A Joy-Filled Summer Wedding at Creekside Terrace
By David Massey Photo – Colorado Springs Wedding Photographer
There are some weddings where the energy is warm from the very beginning—the kind where you can feel the excitement building long before the ceremony even starts. Elsa and Fernando’s August wedding at Creekside Terrace by Wedgewood Weddings was exactly that kind of day. From heartfelt family moments to an unforgettable dance floor under the bistro lights, their celebration was full of joy, gratitude, and truly beautiful emotion... and especially fun... their wedding film. As big fans of the Office, we had to do something a bit different!
Getting Ready
As the venue team prepared the space and details for the ceremony, you could feel the anticipation building. The peaceful atmosphere that Creekside Terrace is known for began to fill up with anticipation as the bride and groom and their respective closest friends got ready in their designated rooms. Having more than enough space is one of the key offerings of Creekside Terrace.
first look with dad
After the final touches, Elsa stepped into another gorgeous area of the venue and awaited the first look moment with her father. Truly beautiful and always one of my favorite moments to capture.
bridal party First Look & Portraits
Elsa and her bridal party took full advantage of the venue, the incredible light and amazing indoor and outdoor spaces, while allowing plenty of options of the guys as well. Even with needing to preserve the bride and groom's first look to happen when Elsa walked down the aisle, we were not limited on places to shoot. Such a key benefit of a large and robust venue!
the ceremony
Soon the ceremony began—simple, heartfelt, and focused on what mattered most. Surrounded by family and friends, Elsa and Fernando exchanged vows in a way that felt incredibly personal and deeply meaningful. As they walked back up the aisle together, the celebration officially began.
cocktail hour
Cocktail hour kicked off giving everyone time to mingle, take photos, and enjoy the early-evening breeze before the party began.
golden hour portraits
Before heading back to join family and friends, Elsa and Fernando opted for a golden hour portrait session. It was the perfect timing and lighting and we had so much fun using the venue to our advantage!
Grand Entrance & Dances
And soon the reception came alive as the wedding party made their grand entrance in pairs, followed by the newlyweds—smiling, glowing, and ready to kick-off the celebration by going straight into dances and speeches!
Dinner, Dessert & Dancing
Dinner was served and followed by cake cutting and then the dancing began. The music turned up, the lights dimmed, and everyone hit the dance floor. From older relatives to the youngest guests, it felt like everyone danced the night away.
A Magical Ending Under the Bistro Lights
As the evening reluctantly began to wrap up but the romance of the night wasn’t over yet.
Elsa and Fernando shared a private last dance—a moment just for the two of them—while their guests lined up outside under the bistro lights. Their grand exit was everything you could want from a summer wedding send-off: joyful, glowing, and full of celebration.
Final Thoughts
Elsa and Fernando’s wedding day was full of everything that makes weddings meaningful—family, emotion, stories, and a whole lot of dancing. Creekside Terrace provided the perfect backdrop for their summer celebration, and the energy from their guests made it a day none of us will forget.
If you’re planning your own wedding and love this kind of timeline-friendly, joy-filled, summer-evening celebration, I’d love to help you capture your day with the same care and storytelling.
