High Point Overlook and The Mining Exchange Hotel in downtown Colorado Springs

Matt and Ana’s wedding was the perfect balance of intimacy, natural beauty, and heartfelt celebration — all unfolding in the heart of Colorado Springs. Their day started quietly, just the two of them getting ready in separate Airbnbs before meeting at Garden of the Gods’ High Point Overlook for a sunlit morning ceremony surrounded by their closest people.

From the beginning, the couple made it clear they wanted a wedding that reflected them — peaceful, relational, and rooted in the moment. As a hybrid photo and video team, I love days like this where we can tell a story from multiple angles, capturing not just how it looked but how it felt.

Ana got ready with her bridesmaids at a cozy Airbnb on Holly Street, while Matt prepped with his groomsmen at a nearby spot on Arnold Drive. They both shared private first looks with their parents — Ana with her dad, and Matt with his mom — moments that brought out so much emotion.

Once everyone arrived at High Point Overlook, the ceremony began under clear skies with breathtaking views of the red rocks. By 10:00 am, Matt and Ana were officially married and glowing during their couple portraits among the sandstone formations.

After a quick round of family photos and a bit of breathing room, the group headed to The Mining Exchange Hotel in downtown Colorado Springs for an early afternoon reception. Their grand entrance, first dance, toasts, and parent dances all flowed seamlessly into a relaxed lunch celebration.

I especially loved the slower pacing of the day. It gave us room to create without rushing, and it gave Matt & Ana the freedom to just be with each other and the people they love. Whether it was the morning light at Garden of the Gods or the heartfelt toasts over lunch, their day was the kind of story I love to tell.
